As Jody and Dan try to adjust to their new life with the kids, they soon notice that strange things are happening in their house. Objects move by themselves, doors slam shut, and a creepy clown doll stalks them. Jody suspects that the house is haunted by a demon who wants to harm the kids. She consults a psychic named Blaine, who tells her that the demon is Mama, the mother of the children who died in a car accident and now wants them back.
Meanwhile, Dan is working on a research project involving a smart ape named Caesar, who has developed human-like intelligence and emotions. Dan becomes attached to Caesar and treats him like a son.
